Before you write, here are answers to some common questions we receive:

How do I join?

Please join us!  Go here for membership information and old-fashioned “print and mail in” forms here.  Sorry for the low-tech…we’re working on establishing online membership renewal sometime in 2012.

When is your next event?

See our blog for the latest activities.

How do I find out about MALCS activities in my area?

MALCS has several local chapters in Austin, San Antonio, Los Angeles (UCLA and CSULA chapters), Salt Lake City, Davis, and Berkeley.  Look here for more information about these chapters and local events.  And keep an eye on the blog or our facebook page for national events.

Where can I get backcopies or subscriptions of the MALCS journal, Chicana/Latina Studies?

Go here for backorder and subscription info

Where is the next Summer Institute? How much will it cost?

This changes every year, and the 2013 Institute will be held at Ohio State University. We promise we’ll announce more details in all the usual places as soon as we know. Since each institute is organized by an independent site committee, costs are determined by not only inflation, but how much the support the site committee receives from the university (departments, centers, institutes, and other administration help).

Subscribe to our email listserv or the blog or check back to this website regularly for the latest info.  Emailing us constantly to ask will not help, really.
